Catalog description

ANTHROPOLOGICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF SPIRITUALITY The scholarship of recent years - especially that done in the Southern European world - allows talk of a new perspective on the foundations of spirituality in continuity with the developments that have occurred since Vatican II. With these studies in mind, the course seeks to establish a bridge between the way of conceiving spirituality in the anglophone world with that of the Spanish- and Italian-speaking world. The purpose is to demonstrate that there are many more convergences than divergences between these two linguistic contexts, so as to evaluate the possibility of a common approach to provide a single foundation for the field of spirituality and to overcome any possible misunderstanding due to differences. Classes will focus on selected readings as a basis for discussion, which should support the personal research of the students.
