Catalog description
SPIRITUAL PRACTICE GROUP - THE ENNEAGRAM AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH Following the pattern in "The Wisdom of the Enneagram: The Complete Guide to Psychological and Spiritual Growth for the Nine Personality Types" (Riso and Hudson) The first session will be an exploration of the system of the enneagram. The second session will ask people to explore their own type and reflect on how they see themselves in that type. The third session will ask students to reflect on their "wake-up calls" around bringing awareness to our various needs, behaviors and habits, according to type. The fourth session will look at strengths, integration and transformation. In the fifth and sixth sessions, we will either continue leftover work from those two weeks or move on to communication and conflict styles. Each session will be looking at how we are created as good, and also acknowledging our humanity is broken, and how we are broken and good in various ways, somewhat dependent on our enneagram style. There may be some discussion on where we see these various styles playing out in sacred scripture, and there will be prayer at the end, around our specific gift and need as we bring awareness to these things. Each member will need to obtain the book: "The Wisdom of the Enneagram: The complete guide to Psychological and Spiritual Growth for the Nine Personality Types" by Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson Required for MDiv, MTS, MCM degree, and CATS students. [5 max enrollment per section]
