Singing Thru the Church Year

Taught by ABSW. Students will sing and read through the Christian year from Advent to Pentecost making use of the resources in a variety of recent hymnals and hymn collections. During each class session we'll sing and discuss several dozen hymns (and study more hymns between classes) thus getting an overview of the hymnody of several Christian faith traditions. Looking for the best and most singable congregational songs in all musical styles, we'll develop a sense of how to choose songs and hymns for authentic worship during the various seasons of the liturgical year.
