TAUGHT BY GTU CHAPLAINCY. ONLINE Spiritual counseling is reflective and establishes spirituality as a resource. The course will cover central theories, main principles, and practice of spiritual counseling in different contexts, and focuses on how to provide professional help in interreligious contexts. In addition, the course will address the intersection between spiritual counseling and psychology, and will explore how they are similar and different and the importance of integrating religious/spiritual elements into psychological counseling. The class will meet synchronously once a week. Students will asynchronously complete the weekly and course assignments (reading assignments, online posting, reflection papers, and a final research paper). Open to M.Div, MA/MTS, D.Min, and PhD students. [30 max enrollment; Auditors excluded]
