Taught by DSPT. homas Aquinas adopts Aristotle's division of being into ten categories. This seminar will investigate Thomas's appropriation of Aristotle's categories, including his proposed derivations of them, and some of his applications to particular philosophical and theological questions. Intended Audience: Philosophy MA students. Format: Seminar. Evaluation: In-class presentation, class participation, 15-20 page research paper. [Reading knowledge of Latin recommended but not required; Faculty Consent required; 12 max enrollment]
