Paul and Political Theology

In this course, we will read recent receptions of Paul from Political Theologians and Continental Philosophers, especially Badiou and Taubes. We will deal with the limits and advantages of political theological inquiry, particularly with respect to the biblical text. Furthermore, we will deal with the antisemitism that has surrounded the Philosophers' Paul and consider the ways that Paul might fall in a paradigm of Jewish political philosophers.
