Catalog description

Private instruction for voice, instruments, composition and song-writing. Lessons consist of one 30-minute meeting weekly for 12 weeks during the semester. Lessons at the 300 level should reflect a higher level of proficiency than lessons at the 100 level, and should incorporate advanced instruction. Additionally, students are required to attend the Music Department performance forum on selected dates throughout the semester. Music majors are required to perform on a performance forum concert. Performance expectations for all other students is dependent upon the requirements of individual private lesson faculty, or departmental requirements for certain music scholarship recipients. All private lessons require a juried performance during the week of final exams. A private lesson fee applies to this course.
