Catalog description

Climate change poses a significant global threat to human civilization.Mathematics provides a means of understanding the physical forces, probable effects, and optimal mitigation ofclimate change. Learners will explore problems in cooperative groups, communicate mathematics with expositorywriting, and critically examine scientific literature. Mathematical topics include introductions to logic, earthsystems modeling, probability, and descriptive and inferential statistics applied to real datasets. Recommended formajors in the social sciences, humanities, and the arts.
