Catalog description

TAUGHT BY BERKELEY SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY. ONLINE ONLY. Baptism is the launching point into a life of discipleship, drenched in grace. Communion is the repeated experience of God's invitation to life-sustaining relationship, overflowing with love. Affirming that there is no single right way to perform baptisms and celebrate communion, this course will provide students with the skills needed to create robust services of their own. Taught from a protestant, free-church perspective with all traditions welcomed and valued. Appropriate to Masters-level students, including MDiv and MA. (Upgrade available for interested DMin and PhD students.) This course is taught with a commitment to liberative and contemplative pedagogy. Seminar style conversation and small group work. Final project will be student-created liturgies and theological reflection upon them.
