Catalog description

Taught by GTU. This course will consist of five day-long seminars in which participants will explore sacred texts and contexts from the Jewish and Islamic traditions. Classes will include intensive beit midrash/madrasa method of study using primary texts and secondary sources. Students will also be required to attend events outside the class totaling 15 hours. A list of various events will be available on the first day of class. Some events might include: mosque and synagogue visits, Islamic art and Jewish art and museum visits, film nights, guest lectures on Islamophobia and Antisemitism, migration, religion and elections, and sustainability and the environment.
