Catalog description

TAUGHT BY GTU/ISLAMIC CENTER. This course will introduce students to the fundamental beliefs of the Islamic faith and the differences various Islamic sects hold regarding them. We will study the historical development of the main theological schools and see how these creeds affected later movements and philosophies. Students will be exposed to translated primary texts in theology, allowing them to experience how creed has been taught in the Islamic world over the centuries. This is a weekly course that requires attendance, participation, weekly reflections, a book review and a final paper.
