Catalog description

This course examines climate change fiction, or "cli-fi," to explore the connection between climate vulnerability and cultural vulnerability. We will explore literary works from around the world that depict climate change as a threat to traditional ways of life, knowledge, and storytelling, to cultural heritage and memory, and to local customs and practices. Through these narratives, we will consider how storytelling can serve as a model for resilience, rooted in cultural traditions, amid planetary crisis.
