Catalog description

This course is designed to foster creative, interdisciplinary thinking and conversation about how environment, craft, and spirituality intersect and inform one another. As an honors course, it invites a high level of intellectual and creative pursuit, challenging students to bring their own insight and intelligence to engaging with other deep thinkers and creative makers across a diverse range of perspectives and practices. Students will not only engage and reflect upon questions around art, craft, and creativity, but will also make something of their own in the process. As the course also meets the RLTH 100 requirement, students will also meet those student learning outcomes. The course also meets the US Diversity requirement, and thus ample attention is given to investigating the ways in which racial, ethnic, gender, and religious identities intersect with, shape, and/or challenge particular art and craft traditions.
