Catalog description
This course is designed to introduce students to the necessary elements of biblical preaching. Students will learn and appropriate a particular biblical exegetical method for preaching in order to prepare, preach and reflect upon three sermons throughout the course. Particular attention will be paid to the effect context has on the preaching task. Through seminar discussion, lectures, preparation and preaching of sermons, oral and written sermon response, and various writing assignments (including online posts), students will begin to develop and articulate their own theology of proclamation.
