Catalog description
Encompasses an area of study that explains how we coordinate the movement of our limbs and how we acquire new movement skills. This course explores the underlying neuro-anatomy of motor control and the fundamental concepts and processes of neuro-motor control, skill acquisition and skill retention. Students are taught how to assess motor skill proficiency and design training programs that optimize the quality and speed of skill acquisition. Emphasis is given to understanding the development and acquisition of skills that are relevant to the role of the Sport Scientist.
