Creative Writing: Poetry

Catalog description

This workshop-style course, through experiential learning and creative exploration, will instruct on multiple approaches to writing poems. Students will read and respond to diverse voices and styles, write poems in a variety of forms such as the elegy, ghazal, haiku, sonnet, and ode, and practice key elements of poetry such as image, metaphor, repetition, sound, and voice. Prerequisite: Engl 111. Recommended: Engl 202
