Catalog description

This course introduces students to California and the American West's multi-ethnic literatures. Our readings explore how the human experience in California and the West has been shaped by factors such as Indigenous knowledge and traditions, colonialism, migration and immigration, labor and land-use, environment and geography, the border, displacement, dispossession, and genocide.
