Catalog description
This course is an exploration of movement and analytical study of the art of making dances. The course will explore the four basic elements of composition: space, shape, time, and energy. Creative resources for choreography will be explored through reading, discussion, improvisation, and choreographic assignments. Critical evaluation and analysis of dance composition is emphasized. Students create choreographic works that are presented to a public audience at the end of the course. Students enrolling in this course should have taken the prerequisite or have had significant previous dance training/experience. Prerequisite: TA/DANC 102 or by consent of the instructor
