Podcasting and Radio Production

Catalog description

This class is an introduction to the world of radio and podcasting with an emphasis on hands-on instruction. As an experiential course, this class gives students the skills needed to create podcasts and radio shows, prepares them for careers in broadcast journalism, or helps them become effective storytellers, regardless of career goals. Students will learn storytelling, script writing, editing, pre-production, post-production, current regulations, and distribution. After this course, students will be prepared to participate in the student radio station, create their own podcast series, and seek employment in the radio/media and podcasting industries.
