This course explores victims' experiences navigating the criminal justice system in pursuit of obtaining justice. Students will examine the impact of crime and violence on victims, their involvement in the criminal justice system, and the role of victim services and programs within and outside the criminal justice system. This course highlights the significance of victim advocacy, intervention, and restoration. Students will analyze the problems, issues, and barriers victims face within the criminal justice system. This course offers future victim advocates and criminal justice professionals new ideas on how to better support victims of crimes and their families.
