Catalog description

This course examines the role of diversity in crime, criminal behavior, and the U.S. criminal justice system. Students will  analyze how an individual's intersecting identities (such as age, social class, religion, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status, and disability) influences victims and offenders experiences in the U.S. criminal justice system, including with law enforcement, courts, and correctional institutions. Additionally, the course explores the effects of intersectionality on victimization, criminalization, and among workers in the criminal justice system.
