Catalog description

This course examines the structures and functions of U.S. legal institutions. The course analyzes the impact of laws on society and conversely the impact of society on laws. Students will focus on diverse issues facing laws and legal institutions in the United States today including inequality, globalism, civil liberties, violation of human rights, privacy and surveillance, and social control. This course highlights victims and offenders' access to seeking, pursuing, and obtaining justice.
