Catalog description

This course introduces students to the field of justice studies, with a focus on defining the concept of justice and identifying different methods to studying it. Students will examine the diverse and competing ideas on defining justice as well as evaluating major theories and key concepts within justice studies. Additionally, this course evaluates the different ways justice plays out in society especially within the United States criminal justice system. Students will develop an understanding of the ways in which justice might be achieved by individuals, groups, and societies.
