Taught by DSPT. The course offers a practicum on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, focusing on the theological, pastoral and canonical issues the confessor may encounter. The course is designed for Roman Catholic ordination candidates who have completed their M.Div. requirements in moral theology, canon law, sacramental theology, and pastoral counseling, and who are able to critically analyze moral action in light of the principles of Roman Catholic moral theology in the tradition of Aquinas. No written work, but attendance at each and every class and full participation is required of all. Local clergy will also participate in the sessions as role players. The course requires strong oral presentations skills.
