Financial Statement Analysis

Catalog description

This course is designed to build and strengthen a student's ability to evaluate financial statements and their accompanying disclosures. Students will first learn to complete horizontal and vertical financial statement analysis for balance sheets and income statements. Students will then learn the key ratios used to analyze financial statements including Liquidity, Leverage, Profitability, Efficiency, Dividend and Market-Based Ratios. Emphasis will be placed on using real-world financial statements as publicly available through company filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (or "SEC").
