Data Analytics in Accounting

Catalog description
This course will prepare students to think critically about how to leverage accounting data to make decisions. Students will study the core components of data analytics within an accounting context, with an emphasis on data cleansing, analysis, interpretation, and visualization. The course will also ask students to analyze the data for decision-making purposes and communicate the analyses' results. Students will also be exposed to emerging technologies such as Blockchain and Robotic Process Automation (or "RPA"). Through this course, students will learn modern analytical techniques by using software such as Excel, Tableau, and UiPath.
