Catalog description
Presents the rehearsal and performance of the Theatre Arts stage production for the current semester for older adults. Provides students the opportunity to engage in a collaborative world-building process to develop acting and character development skills, culminating in a fully realized theatrical production. Develops techniques in memorization, stage movement, vocal production, script analysis, and text interpretation. Students rehearse acting, singing, and/or dancing to prepare for multiple live public performances with guidance from a director. Each semester, different shows are presented for a theatre production cast with Cabrillo students, which may include dramatic or comedic plays, musicals, or student-directed one-acts. Students interested in participating audition and, if cast, enroll in the course. Designed for students with a range of theatre experience, from those with no prior theatre experience to those with significant experience. Some of the class hours for this course may be scheduled as To Be Arranged (TBA). Limitation on enrollment: audition required; must audition and be cast in current Theatre Arts production.
