Catalog description

Discusses and applies oral and written argumentation concepts to develop critical thinking skills. Oral argumentation focuses on the principles of logical reasoning and then applies these principles to persuasive speeches and policy debates. Written argumentation focuses on the principles of rhetorical analysis and then applies these principles to speeches, debates, and essays. Students utilize and critically analyze research and documentation while constructing and evaluating oral and written arguments. A minimum of 5,000 words of writing is required.
