Catalog description

This course introduces students to the art and technique of writing for the stage. Students explore the fundamentals of crafting compelling narratives, developing authentic characters, and constructing dynamic dialogue. Through script analysis of works from several playwrights and genres, students cultivate an understanding of the historical development of playwriting. Students hone their storytelling skills and cultivate their unique voices as playwrights in class workshops, discussions, and practical exercises. This course meets the General Education requirement for Creative Work.
