Catalog description

Forensic science is the application of the scientific method to criminal investigation. Topics include recognition, identification, and evaluation of physical evidence such as hairs, fibers, drugs, blood, glass, soil, fingerprints, and documents. Such topics as forensic serology, analysis of arson debris, forensic analysis of drugs, gunshot residues, papers and inks, paint chips and DNA fingerprints. The course is designed for students with minimal background in science. Course meets: 3 hrs lecture; 3 hrs. lab.
