College Algebra for STEM
Bunker Hill Community College · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course is designed for science, technology, engineering, computer science, and mathematics students and provides a solid preparation for Precalculus. Course study will focus on functions and their graphs (polynomial, absolute value, rational, radical, piecewise, exponential and logarithmic functions, algebra of functions, analyzing functions, and related applications). Additional topics include: equations and inequalities, complex numbers, conic sections, systems of equations, partial fractions, linear programming, and an introduction to matrices. Technology and digital media resources will be incorporated. The course meets the General Education requirement for Quantitative Problem Solving.
