This course considers the legal aspects of hotel and restaurant operations. Topics covered are the history of United States law as related to the hospitality industry, current employment and labor law as they impact hotel and restaurant operations, property negligence and liability, the impact of civil rights legislation, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, contract law, bailments, and other legal responsibilities.
