Catalog description
In this course, students who already have been exposed to programming and Object Oriented thinking, develop the ability to correctly analyze a variety of problems and generate appropriate algorithmic solutions using the Java Programming Language. The course emphasizes the principles of top-down structured design and Object Oriented thinking. Topics include but are not limited to branching and looping mechanisms; arrays, functions and function overloading, arguments by reference and by value as well as optional arguments; recursion; creating packages, structures and classes, constructors and other methods, file I/O; inheritance and polymorphism. Strong analytical skills are recommended for students enrolling in this course, plus familiarity and experience working with the Internet and basic HTML tags.
