Catalog description
This course examines and introduces students to the criminal justice system with special emphasis on the roles and responsibilities of police officers. The function of police in contemporary society will be explored. Discussion centers on the problems arising between citizens and police from the enforcement and non-enforcement of laws, from social changes to police accountability and problem-solving policing strategies.
