Catalog description
Emphasis in this course in Information Security and Assurance will be placed on understanding the key issues associated with protecting information, the technologies behind securing information and the subsequent detection and response to security incidents. Topics will include inspection of information assets, detection of and reaction to threats to information assets, and examination of pre- and post-incident procedures, technical responses and an overview of the Information Security Planning functions. There will be a "hands-on" lab component required for this course. Students taking this course will be required to sign The White Hat Oath, a Code of Ethics from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc. (www.isc2.org).
