Catalog description
This course will provide advanced theory and skills for the nursing assistant moving into an acute care setting as a patient care technician. Prepares students to perform specialized clinical procedures in the patient care setting. Based on the understanding of scientific principles, anatomic structures and physiologic processes students develop skills across the life span. The student will be introduced to a blend of hands on patient interaction and clinical skills. This course is developed to prepare competent caregivers to practice advanced skills. Note: This course is designed for the nursing assistant that is eligible to take the state nursing assistant certification exam. MEETING DETAILS:3 hrs lab; 2 hrs lec
