Catalog description

This survey course will introduce several topics in which psychology and law intersect such as lie detection, false confessions, child custody disputes, eyewitness memory, and the insanity defense. This class will also familiarize you with some basic concepts central to how law is practiced such as cross-examination, jury selection, and burdens of proof. Be aware that topics in this course may occasionally be of sensitive nature (e.g., murder, rape, and assault).
