Catalog description

This course is geared toward advanced vocal performers. Each semester will be dedicated to vocal diction, extended vocal techniques, song-writing, repertoire study, recital development and preparation; survey of issues essential to the teaching of singing, vocal culture and health, and professional practice are integrated within each unit. Course activities include: practical application through active participation in mini workshops for each unit, reading and discussion, observation and critique, mindfulness and body awareness exercises and a research project. This advanced course in vocal techniques, pedagogy, and career development is required of all MUS B voice majors.
