Catalog description

Food is an integral part of each and every culture. Food culture is the embodiment of its geography, history, religion, education, economy, lifestyle, people and society. This course explores such various aspects of Japan through close examination of its food culture. This course is offered in Japanese, aiming to improve the four language skills (i.e., listening, speaking, reading, and writing) through learning the content. The course welcomes students who have completed JPN 202 or have an equivalent proficiency.
