Indigeneity and Disability

Catalog description

Drawing on the interdisciplinary literature in the fields of Critical Disability Studies, Indigenous Studies, Sociology, and Architecture, this course centers on understanding Indigenous disability as an analytic - a way of understanding systemic inequality by attending to the structural processes by which Indigenous disabled peoples are diagnosed, assessed, policed, incarcerated, and excluded from full and meaningful participation in society.
