Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of advanced circuit design and layout techniques. The course covers six key areas essential for mastering analog and digital circuit design. I. Students will explore the fabrication flow, including conventional and FinFET processes, to understand the fundamentals of modern semiconductor manufacturing. II. Students will study RC delay models and the impact of parasitics to analyze and improve signal integrity and timing. III. The course will provide in-depth knowledge of standard cell design and layout characterization to enhance circuit performance and integration. IV. The course addresses analog layout with a focus on current mirrors. V. Students will engage in comparator design analysis and layout to improve accuracy and speed in analog-to-digital conversions. Finally, the course will cover current steering DACs, and the design of an operational amplifier, providing hands-on experience in building complex analog systems. This course is ideal for students seeking to deepen their expertise in circuit design and layout at an advanced level.
