Catalog description

This course studies trade issues and policies. The topics to be covered include: the recent world economic crises; the issues of global trade imbalance and the U.S. current account deficit; international borrowing and lending; dumping, antidumping, countervailing, and safeguard measures; trade disputes in practice; the inner workings of the Chinese economy; the U.S.-China trade war; exchange rate determination and policy; financial crisis and policy measures; the economics of EU and the Eurozone, Brexit and its economic consequences; the economics of offshoring; and world trade and the environments–issues and policies.
