Catalog description

An examination of the use of different media technologies to create “virtual worlds.” Technologies covered will include stereoscopy, panoramas, projection, chroma-keying, 3D scanning and tracking, game engines, and virtual reality. We will look at different uses of virtual worlds, both past and present, particularly in the areas of entertainment and education. The course is intended for students with backgrounds in either camera-based or computer-based media production.
