University at Buffalo · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
This class examines the historical and contemporary role of Indigenous media. We will examine the role of Indigenous media in political and culture movements and as a way to call in those who may relate and call out the structures of colonialism and structures of hierarchy meant to upend our relationality. We will critically engage our examination of Indigenous media by addressing the major discourses of critical Indigenous intervention, dissent, and liberation in the examination of art. This course is the same as IDS 302 , and course repeat rules will apply.
