Catalog description
This is an advanced course in microprocessors and microprocessor based systems. This course is an extension of CSE 379 , covering advanced topics not covered in CSE 379 . This course will cover floating point computation (at the assembly language level), pulse with modulation (PWM), inter-integrated circuit (I2C) communication, serial peripheral interface (SPI) communication, direct memory access (DMA), keypad interfacing, analog-to-digital conversion (ADC), and digital-to-anallog conversion (DAC). Students will spend significant time reading and understanding technical documentation. The course will also cover details regarding the setup and configuration of an embedded system (such as how to setup and modify the vector table). The ARM microprocessor will be used to convey these topics.
