Catalog description

This three-credit course introduces communication research on risk related to health, science, technology, and the environment. It provides you with a conceptual understanding of the fundamental issues that impact the relationship between risk communicators and the public. The course encourages you to think critically about risk communication as a dynamic process. After taking this course, you should be familiar with the major theories related to risk communication and have an appreciation for how these theories relate to the practice of risk communication.
