Quantitative Research Methods IV is an advanced graduate seminar on the design, implementation, analysis, and interpretation of experiments in social science and policy. The course provides in-depth training in laboratory, survey, and field experiments, with strong emphasis on real-world policy applications. Students learn core principles of causal inference, experimental design, treatment implementation, power analysis, pre-registration, and threats to validity. Through lectures and critical discussion of cutting-edge experimental research in social science and policy, students develop the tools to design their own experiments and to rigorously evaluate experimental evidence for both academic and policy research.
