This seminar explores central questions in ethical theory by examining how they are currently being developed in the recent literature. Topics may include: moral risk and risk-imposition, moral offsetting, Pareto principles, aggregation, incommensurability, population ethics, partiality, interpersonal comparisons, and related debates. Readings will emphasize work from the last decade and aim to situate emerging debates within their broader theoretical significance.
