Catalog description

This seminar will discuss a range of ethical and political issues in George Orwell’s essays and novels, including his insights about betrayal and the limits of love and loyalty, which are often overlooked in the conventional focus on the political dimension of his writing, although we will discuss the political dimension too. In order to include students with varied interests and backgrounds, this seminar has no prerequisites.
