This course discusses Consequentialism, a major family of ethical theories which claim that whether something is right or wrong is determined by its consequences. The class is split into sections covering three rough questions: Which consequences are good or bad? How do we go from how good or bad those consequences are to whether something is right or wrong? And why might someone believe (or doubt) that Consequentialism is a good approach to ethics?
